Yes, I really was going to quit on you. Yes, my YouTube shut down plans were real.  But I don’t want to be considered a murderer because there are dislike losers who will simply die without me.  This is America: I don’t believe in taking jobs, I believe in giving them!  So I changed my mind.

Besides, if there’s one thing I don’t do well, it’s quitting. I hate quitting, I hate giving up, and most of all, I hate the idea that people like me are too small of a minority in the gaming industry to mean anything. What kind of people, you ask? People with an open heart and an open mind to gaming.

I grew up on Nintendo, but some of my first games ever were Castlevania and Ghosts and Goblins. Ever since then, I have always been playing Nintendo games, but also third party games as well as the competition. I’ll never forget zipping back and forth on the screen in Altered Beasts when my cousins brought their Sega Genesis! Not a bone in my body felt anything less than entertained by this “Sega” system and this game from another company I knew little about. It was all the same in the end: still just videogames; and I still see things that way now.

Nintendo will always have a special place in my heart because I grew up with them, and they’re the reason I still play videogames. Call me stubborn, but it’s a part of my childhood I don’t wish to let go of. But just because I adore them doesn’t mean no one else can make great systems and great games. And it’s my hope that through my YouTube channel, my Twitch channel, this site, and my social media that you all begin to enjoy the freedom of an open mind and join me on my journey to play games, not systems.  This journey together will hopefully result in building a community: one without the preconceptions that are normally associated with “gamers”.
