It’s Okay to Criticize Nintendo’s Port Practices!

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD is coming.  A resolution, framerate, and texture boost.  No remade models, no reworked graphics engine, no enhanced lighting, nothing worthwhile in terms of technical upgrades except things you can simply turn up with sliders.  For $60.  One game, released on the Wii in 2011, ported to a system with 30 times more power… for $60.  Yea, it’s okay to criticize Nintendo’s port practices.  And in all honesty, you should.  A lot of the big media outlets and YouTubers get their review copies for free: they don’t actually feel this; it’s you and I that are paying customers, and Nintendo is NOT kind to us.  I don’t even need to make my point any clearer with Bowser’s Fury: Super Mario 3D World, or any number of other Switch ports that received barebones enhancements or content as a lone, full price release.
